  'Maatr' & 'Noor' Fail ; 'Begum Jaan' Disappoints; 'Naam Shabana' Is Alright!

The coming Friday will witness the release of 'Bahubali: The Conclusion'. Given the super success of the first edition, 'Bahubali 2' is also expected to write a success story.

 Maatr  Verdict: Failed
 Weekly Earnings: -  Total Earnings: -
Despite a limited release, Raveena Tandon's 'Maatr' managed a very ordinary start and is on way to a failure status.


 Noor  Verdict: Poor
 Weekly Earnings: -  Total Earnings: -
The other release of the week, Sonakshi Sinha's 'Noor' too managed a poor start and has been rejected.

 Begum Jaan  Verdict: Below average
 Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 18 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 18 crore
Meanwhile the Vidya Balan starrer, 'Begum Jaan' saw a very ordinary week and will be lucky to get to a coverage status, even after accounting for non-theatrical rights.

 Naam Shabana  Verdict: Flop
 Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 1 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 35 crore
Checking out Tapsee Pannu’s 'Naam Shabana' (the prequel to 'Baby'), despite a creditable performance, the film face losses, though minimal, due to the high involved costs (38-40 crore).

 Badrinath Ki Dulhania  Verdict: Super hit
 Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 1.50 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 117 crore ; UK£400,000 ; US$1,970,000
Concluding with the Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt starrer, 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania', the film has ended it's superb run and is the first super hit of the year.

'Badrinath Ki Dulhania' is an overseas hit, grossing well over $5m.
