This Friday will see one of the most awaited releases of 2008, the film that brings back the `Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge` and `Mohabbatein` team of director Aditya Chopra and superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The trailers and the songs of the film are being spoken of in highly laudatory terms and so `Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi` is all set for a great run, not only in India but globally!

As we had predicted last week, the bunched relesaes, namely `Maharathi`, `Meerabai Not Out`, `Dil Kabaddi` and `Oh My God!!` have all been rejected. From the list, Paresh Rawal`s `Maharathi` and the Rahul Bose, Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan starrer `Dil Kabaddi` fared comparatively better.

|
Dibaker Banerjee`s Abhay Deol starrer, `Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!`, had a creditable week under the circumstances. It expectedly fared best in Delhi and Punjab. The low budget flick has put up a good show. Given the fact that it has another decent weekend (second), `Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!` will scrape through to safety, after accounting for non–theatrical rights.

The other release of the same week, Onir`s Sanjay Suri, Sharman Joshi and Chitrangda Singh starrer, `Sorry Bhai!`, is in an extremely sorry state, with poor collections all over. The film is an expected washout.

Subhash Ghai`s Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan starrer `Yuvvraaj`, after having poor opening week, crashed further in the second. Given the huge procurement price, the film is a trade disaster. The film has also been rejected in the Overseas.

| Director: Tarun Mansukhani |

Karan Johar`s Tarun Mansukhani directed `Dostana` had a further fall (after the second week), though once again cities like Bombay and Delhi fared comparatively better. Given the impressive first week, one feels bad for the subsequent falls in the second and especially the third week. The film had a lot of potential, more so in the cities but had to bear the brunt of reasons beyond its control from the 14th day onwards. The Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra and Kirron Kher starrer though has had an impressive run in the Overseas.
