Yash Raj’s Kabir Khan directed `New York` may well turn out to be the first universal hit of 2009. The film embarked on an excellent start at the multiplexes, across India. In fact, the collections improved as the day progressed and netted an impressive 17-18 crore during the weekend. The film has sustained quite well even during the weekdays. `New York` also has impressive collections to show from the Overseas.

The Paritosh Painter directed Paying Guests has not been appreciated much by the audiences, even in circuits that patronise comedies! Though the Shreyas Talpade, Jaaved Jaaferi, Ashish Chaudhry, Celina Jaitley and Riya Sen starrer is a losing preposition, the losses will not be too high, thanks to the reasonable associated costs.

Advait Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Asian Films Production And Distribution Ltd.’s Gayatri Patel starrer, `Let`s Dance` has been out-rightly rejected as expected.
