| The major release of this week is Shree Ashtavinayak Cinevision Ltd’s Soham Shah directed Mithun, Dutt, Imran, Shruti and Danny starrer, `Luck`. Giving company to the film will be the unconventional `Perfect Mismatch` from the Xperience Films banner. It is but obvious that the 40 crore `Luck` will be off to a good start, while `Perfect Mismatch` will be no match for `Luck! |

Last Friday saw the release of Vishesh Films’ Adhyayan Suman, Shahana Goswami, Anjana Sukhani and Humayun Saeed starrer `Jashnn`. The film saw a weak start almost everywhere and the resulting weekend can at best be termed as dull. Trade predicts a bleak picture for `Jashnn`.

Pankaj Advani’s well made `Sankat City` fared quite well despite very selective prints and odd show timings. The film may just surprise in the coming weeks, thanks to good feedbacks and additional prints.

Moving on to EROS International and Sajid Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.`s Akshay-Kareena starrer, `Kambakkht Ishq`, the collections fell heavily rather crashed in the second week. But `Kambakkht Ishq` became the second bonus beneficiary, as the distributors have received an additional 2.5 percent distributors shares in the first and second week, because the film’s nett collections have already crossed the threshold Rs. 17.5 crore from the six major multiplex chains. The film has managed good business from the Overseas.

Yash Raj’s Kabir Khan directed `New York`, which had seen a heavy fall during its second outing, had quite a steady third week, as compared to the second one. The film is now a hit plus in India and definitely aiming for a higher status. And for that, apart from its technical merits, and reasonable budget of 20 crores, the film should thank the fact that `New York` became the first film to be entitled to 52.5 percent distributors share in week one instead of 50 percent and 45 percent of the same in week two instead of 42.5 share, as its nett collections from the six multiplex chains have already crossed Rs. 17.5 crore. `New York` has also done good business in the Overseas.
