As expected Vishal Bhardwaj’s Shahid, Priyanka and Amole starrer, `Kaminey`, embarked on a very good start, wherever it released. The collections improved during the weekend, though some fall was noticed in the smaller circuits like C.P. C.I. on Sunday itself. Unfortunately `Kaminey` could not release in Bombay-Thane and Pune during the last weekend due to the Swine flu scare, resulting in closure of cinemas and lost close to 4-5 crores on account of that. Despite its high 40 crore cost, `Kaminey` looks well placed to become a profitable venture. Surprisingly, `Kaminey` has done wonderfully in US but is ordinary in the UK.

The other release of the same week, Rumi Jaffery’s Fardeen, Tusshar, Genelia and Prachi starrer, `Life Partner` too suffered a loss of 2-2.5 crore due to non release in Bombay-Thane and Pune. The film did release on Friday all over barring the mentioned places to an ordinary start, though it picked up quite well as the days progressed. The film has failed in the Overseas.

Thanks to its shoestring budget and some patronisation, due to a positive feedback, Satish Kaushik’s Ruslaan and Sheena starrer, `Teree Sang` manages to escape through to safety.

Ram Gopal Varma’s `Agyaat`has not really been appreciated, perhaps due to its radical climax and lack of face value, but may just about cover its costs once the revenue from the dubbed South versions are taken into account.

Imtiaz Ali’s Rishi, Saif and Deepika starrer, `Love Aaj Kal`, fell heavily in its second week, like most over saturated releases, but is a clear hit for hits worldwide distributors, EROS International, thanks mainly to its first week exploits and the blockbuster Overseas run.
