| This week, which also marked the start of the fasting month of ‘Ramzan’, saw an interesting clash between class and horror! The films in question were Aamir Khan’s `Peepli [Live]` and the Bobby Deol and the Mughda Godse starrer `Help`. Given the superb promotion by Aamir Khan, the Anusha Rizvi directed `Peepli [Live]` won the battle convincingly, given the low costs and starless nature of the film. On the other hand `Help` was not exactly steamrolled into submission but saw a dull start. |

Last Friday’s Rajshree Ojha directed Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor starrer `Aisha` was hot amongst city based youngsters and expected to do well at up-market multiplexes. And that is exactly how it went. Once again the film showed a positive growth during the weekend with the best performance coming from Bombay and Delhi multiplexes. While `Aisha` will not be a massive success it is likely to be a safe bet for its distributors, especially in the metro circuits. `Aisha` though has poor collections in the Overseas.

While the opening of Milan Luthria’s `Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai` was not exactly earth shattering, the film saw a good run during the first week. The film has done very well and has been appreciated. The film saw a heavy fall of over 60 percent in the second week (collections awaited) but the Ajay-Emraan starrer is all set to be a clean success. The film though has been totally rejected in the Overseas .

The collections of Priyadarshan’s `Khatta Meetha` crashed during the second week. The Akshay-Trisha starrer will see some of its distributors losing a part of their investment. `Khatta Meetha` has also under-performed in the Overseas, given that it is an Akshay Kumar starrer.

Moving on, surprising as it may sound but Ali Zafar’s `Tere Bin Laden` has shown perhaps the steadiest run of 2010 and is one of the few clean successes of the year.

In the end, Anurag Kashyap`s `Udaan` is ending it`s run in India and after accounting for the non-theatrical rights (especially sattelite) it is a safe venture for the makers.
