| This week`s new release is Madhur Bhandarkar’s Ajay, Emraan, Omi and Shruti starrer, `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji`. The cheeky promos of the film did manage to arouse some curiosity and so the film started on a mixed note with the single screens being dull and the multiplexes being better. The film is expected to fare better during the weekend. |

The opening of the Kiran Rao directed Aamir-Prateik starrer `Dhobi Ghat` was never expected to be earth shattering as the film was primarily aimed at the multiplex audience. The start was slow but the collections picked up noticeably during the evening shows and the film had a decent weekend. Unfortunately the film could not capitalise on the decent weekend or the additional Republic Day holiday. `Dhobi Ghat` fared well in the UK and was good in the US.

The fantastic collections of `Yamla Pagla Deewana` in the North and Central India as also in Gujarat & Saurashtra, have brought back the smiles on the faces of the trade people. In other circuits too the film has done reasonably well. The film capitalised on the Republic Day holiday and so the second week collections too are expected to be good. It means that `YPD` is on way to being the first clean hit of 2011. `Yamla Pagla Deewana` has also done good business in the Overseas.
