| This Friday’s new releases included Nikhil Advani’s `Patiala House`, Gipsy Films And Shethia Audio Video Productions’ `Aashiqui.In` and the Ganesh Acharya directed `Angel`. The front runner is obviously the Akshay-Anushka starrer `Patiala House`. However, the film does not feature Akshay Kumar in his audience pleasing role, and so it did not commence on the usual flying starts (associated with Akshay) and started on a somewhat slow to dull start (better at multiplexes). The 27-28 crore (inclusive on print and publicity) `Patiala House` did show a noticable pick up as the weekend progressed but it has to do more to achieve anything significant! |

Checking out the older releases, Sudhir Mishra`s `Yeh Saali Zindagi` had quite a slow start but it did see a positive growth (at the multiplexes) as the weekend progressed and it will be interesting to see if the 9-10 crore (inclusive of print and publicity) `YSZ` gets into the profit zone. None of the other releases including the coloured version of Dev Anand`s `Hum Dono` managed even a half decent start.

The start of Madhur Bhandarkar’s `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji` was not great but the film picked up positively as the days progressed resulting in a healthy weekend. Once again the film could not sustain during the weekdays. `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji` has been rejected in the Overseas.
