The week saw the release of master director Vishal Bhardwaj’s `7 Khoon Maaf` along with the Sagar Bellary directed `Kaccha Limboo` and the Divya Dutta and Rajpal Yadav starrer `Masti Express`. Like all new releases (post `Yamla Pagla Deewana`) `7 Khaan Maaf` too started on a slow to dull note but showed signs of a pick up by the later shows. The other two releases failed to make any impact.

 Patiala House  Verdict: Awaited
 Weekly Earnings: UK£261,145 ; US$347,261  Total Earnings: UK£261,145 ; US$347,261
PB Rating: 7.5 out of 10  Public Rating (by 400 unique users): 5.17
Director: Nikhil Advani  Producer: Bhushan Kumar, Mukesh Talreja
Music: Shankar Ehsaan Loy  Lyrics: Anvita Dutt Guptan
Starring: Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma, Tinnu Anand, Soni Razdan, Prem Chopra, Masood Akhtar, Armaan Kirmani, Hard Kaur, Usmaan Qureshi and Devansh Daswani.
Genre: Social  Recommended Audience: Parental Guidance
The opening of Nikhil Advani’s `Patiala House` was not expected to be big but what was witnessed last Friday was well below the mark. The film did show an up tick during the weekend but it was not substantial enough. Despite the fact that the Indian distributors have procured the film at a reasonable 22-23 crores `Patiala House` faces rough weather ahead. The Akshay-Anushka starrer is quite decent abroad but once again below the expectations.

 Yeh Saali Zindagi  Verdict: Awaited
Weekly Earnings: India 7.50 crore  Total Earnings: India 7.50 crore
After a decent weekend, Sudhir Mishra’s `Yeh Saali Zindagi` showed good staying power during the weekdays as well, but the 10.50 crore (including print and publicity) will have to sustain more for being called a success, even after accounting for the non-theatrical rights. The film though has been rejected in the Overseas.

Utt Patang, United Six  Verdict: Disaster
Weekly Earnings: -  Total Earnings: -
The other releases of the week, `Utt Patang` and `United Six` are disasters.

Dil To Baccha Hai Ji  Verdict: Average
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 5.75 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 26.75 crore
The collections of Madhur Bhandarkar’s `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji` crashed in the second week. While the producers are already in the profit zone, thankfully the film has been sold to the distributors at a very reasonable 13 crores and so the Ajay-Emraan starrer just about gets to the average mark. The film though has been rejected in the Overseas.

Yamla Pagla Deewana  Verdict: Hit plus
 Weekly Earnings: India 1.50 crore  Total Earnings: India 54.50 crore ; UK£535,153 ; US$995,000
Concluding with Samir Karnik’s `Yamla Pagla Deewana`, the film still has some firepower left. The Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby starrer is a hit plus and has also done wonderfully in the Overseas.
