| The week saw the release of master director Vishal Bhardwaj’s `7 Khoon Maaf` along with the Sagar Bellary directed `Kaccha Limboo` and the Divya Dutta and Rajpal Yadav starrer `Masti Express`. Like all new releases (post `Yamla Pagla Deewana`) `7 Khaan Maaf` too started on a slow to dull note but showed signs of a pick up by the later shows. The other two releases failed to make any impact. |

The opening of Nikhil Advani’s `Patiala House` was not expected to be big but what was witnessed last Friday was well below the mark. The film did show an up tick during the weekend but it was not substantial enough. Despite the fact that the Indian distributors have procured the film at a reasonable 22-23 crores `Patiala House` faces rough weather ahead. The Akshay-Anushka starrer is quite decent abroad but once again below the expectations.

After a decent weekend, Sudhir Mishra’s `Yeh Saali Zindagi` showed good staying power during the weekdays as well, but the 10.50 crore (including print and publicity) will have to sustain more for being called a success, even after accounting for the non-theatrical rights. The film though has been rejected in the Overseas.

The collections of Madhur Bhandarkar’s `Dil To Baccha Hai Ji` crashed in the second week. While the producers are already in the profit zone, thankfully the film has been sold to the distributors at a very reasonable 13 crores and so the Ajay-Emraan starrer just about gets to the average mark. The film though has been rejected in the Overseas.

| Yamla Pagla Deewana |
Verdict: Hit plus |

Concluding with Samir Karnik’s `Yamla Pagla Deewana`, the film still has some firepower left. The Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby starrer is a hit plus and has also done wonderfully in the Overseas.
