This Friday will see the release of Yash Raj`s much waited `Jhoom Barabar Jhoom`. The movie, starring the likes of Amitabh & Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Bobby Deol and Lara Dutta, is already quite hyped and the music very popular. It is but obvious that `Jhoom Barabar Jhoom` will open big at the box-office, both in India and Overseas(specially in UK).

The Emraan Hashmi-Geeta Basra starrer, `The Train`, failed to capitalise on its popular music and took a very ordinary start. A section of the trade feels that too many releases( `The Train`, `Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar`, `Swami`, `Dharm` and `Red Swastik`) in the same week and the fact that a big and much awaited release like `Jhoom Barabar Jhoom`, next Friday, spelled doom for the new releases, including `The Train`.

`Fool N Final` had a good first weekend but the collections started falling as the week progressed. Still the performance in Bombay circuit, Central India and parts of North are quite satisfactory and the makers can hope for at least an average plus status. The movie has been rejected in the overseas, though it has managed to collect $209,519 from the UK and the distributors, Tip Top, can still hope for a cost recovery.

The Amitabh-Tabu starrer, `Cheeni Kum`, has maintained very well in the cities and is also doing quite well in the UK. Given the 10 to 12 crore budget and the reasonable selling prices, the movie (already an average), can crawl up to a higher status for sure. `Cheeni Kum` is also doing quite well in the Overseas.

`Shootout At Lokhandwala` was the movie that released with `Cheeni Kum` and it continues to do well, more so in Bombay, Gujarat and Saurashtra. Though it has dropped at some places, the collections are still quite decent. Given its two week total and the selling price ( quite reasonable in Delhi-U.P and East Punjab) in India, `Shootout At Lokhandwala` is a hit in India. However, `Shootout At Lokhandwala` has dissapointed in the Overseas.
