The road to release for `Aarakshan` was paved with perils and the first day saw a ban in three states- U.P., Andhra Pradesh and Punjab. Thankfully the ban was lifted in Andhra and Punjab from the second day. However, despite that the Amitabh, Manoj, Saif and Deepika starrer performed very well netting 32-33 crore during the week. With the ban lifted in U.P. too the film is expected to do well there as well. `Aarakshan` though has disappointed in the Overseas.
