| This Friday’s solo Hindi release is Imtiaz Ali’s Ranbir-Nargis starrer, `Rockstar`. Given the fact that the film was keenly awaited and additionally boasts of the youth anthem “Sadda Haq” by A.R. Rahman, stars the hottest young star of Bollywood Ranbir and last but not the least, it has been directed by Imtiaz Ali (`Jab We Met`, `Love Aaj Kal`). And that is why `Rockstar` has embarked on a great start, more so at the multiplexes. The opening varied from 60-70 percent and in some cases even 100 percent. The film is doing best in metros, ‘A’ centers and affiliated satellite towns. The single screens are dull at 40-50 percent, but that comes as no surprise. |

The opening of last Friday`s `Loot` was comparatively the best but still nothing to write home about as it netted just about 2 crore during the opening weekend.

`Miley Na Miley Hum` saw negligible collections and was a poor second to even `Loot` as `RA.One`, even with crashing collections remained the first choice during its second weekend.

After a huge 100 crore opening week (9-days), the collections of `RA.One` crashed in the second week and the film has netted around 14-15 crore (to be validated once the collections are out), taking the two week total to 114-115 crore . Yet again, that comes as no surprise because all the 100 crore plus netters (final total) of 2011 have also crashed the same way after a huge first week! The dubbed (Tamil & Telugu) versions have additionally netted 6 crores. `RA.One` has done great business in the Overseas (though it has seen a huge fall in the second weekend), and is Bollywood`s biggest hit of 2011 in that circuit.

Concluding with HR Musik’s Swapna Wagmare Joshi directed Himesh Reshammiya starrer, `Damadamm!`, around the middle of last week a section of the media claimed that the film had managed to accumulate 4 crores during the extended week (8-days). However when the collections were disclosed (8.50 lakhs Bombay, 10.50 lakhs Ahmedabad , 5.30 lakhs Delhi etc.) it was quite an anti-climax!
