The only new release of the week, former IPS officer Y.P. Singh`s `Kya Yahi Sach Hai`, has opened to poor collections of below 10 percent and has negligible chances at the ticket window. With no significant release till `Players` on January 6th, `Don 2` continues to remain the first choice.

 Don 2  Verdict: Awaited
 Weekly Earnings: UK£513,275 ; US$2,081,205  Total Earnings: UK£513,275 ; US$2,081,205
PB Rating: 6.0 out of 10  Public Rating (by 400 unique users): 5.17
Director: Farhan Akhtar  Producer: Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, Shahrukh Khan
Music: Shankar Ehsaan Loy  Lyrics: Javed Akhtar
Starring: Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Kunal Kapoor, Boman Irani, Om Puri
 Genre: Action  Recommended Audience: General
With the first week numbers being known it is obvious that Farhan Akhtar’s Shah Rukh Khan-Priyanka Chopra starrer, `Don 2 : The King Is Back`, has scored globally. In India, the film has netted around 72 crore, with the dubbed (Tamil and Telugu) versions adding another 3 crores for a sum total of 75 crore (to be validated once numbers are published). `Don 2` has ruled the Overseas grossing $9.50 m till Thursday (29th December).

As is known, the worldwide rights of `Don 2` were procured by Reliance Entertainment for Rs.80 crore (excluding print and publicity), out of which 36 crore have already been recovered from satellite rights and 9 crores from audio rights. As the stats clearly indicate, it is but a formality to state that `Don 2 : The King Is Back` is a clear hit that still has a lot of firepower left (given the perceptible second weekend trends!).

 Jo Hum Chahein  Verdict: Washout
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 0.40 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 0.40 crore
Checking out `Jo Hum Chahein`, the film saw poor collections and is a washout.

Pappu Can`t Dance Saala  Verdict: Disaster
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 0.50 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 0.50 crore
The other release of the same week, the Vinay Pathak and Neha Dhupia starrer `Pappu Can`t Dance Saala` failed to appeal to the audience and is a trade disaster.

Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl  Verdict: Average

Director: Maneesh Sharma  Producer: Aditya Chopra

Starring: Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra, Dipannita Sharma
 Genre: Comedy  Recommended Audience: General
Meanwhile Yash Raj Films’ `Ladies VS Ricky Bahl` crashed in the second week but is an average plus fare after accounting for the non-theatrical rights. The film has not performed well in the overseas.

 Genre: Drama  Recommended Audience: Adult
Concluding with Balaji Motion Pictures and Alt. Entertainment’s Milan Luthria directed Naseeruddin Shah, Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi and Tusshar Kapoor starrer, `The Dirty Picture`, the film has another very steady week to show. The film though has not done well in the Overseas (better in the US).
