| As was expected, the two new releases of the week, `Hate Story` and `Vicky Donor`, belonging to different genres and aimed at different segments of the audiences, did not cut into each others business. As per the initial reports, it’s Vivek Agnihotri’s erotic thriller `Hate Story` which is doing decent business, especially at the single screens of West Bengal, CI followed by U.P., Maharashtra and Gujarat, while South is quite ordinary. The multiplexes are quite ordinary. The other release, Shoojit Sircar’s `Vicky Donor` has opened with dull to decent numbers at the multiplexes while the single screens are weak. The best performance comes from South, East Punjab and Delhi city. |

Sajid Nadiadwala’s Sajid Khan directed `Housefull 2` saw a great first week, despite strong opposition from IPL and the two regional films in East Punjab and Nizam .Given the rock-steady second week of around 30 crore (to be validated), the Akshay-John starrer is a super-hit. `Housefull 2` has also done good business in the Overseas and may well turn out to be the biggest hit of 2012.

Concluding once again with Sujoy Ghosh’s Vidya Balan starrer, `Kahaani`, the film has been hit hard by `Housefull 2` but still managed decent numbers. `Kahaani` has also done good business in the Overseas, given the cost and cast.
