Both the new releases of this week, Vipul Shah’s `Commando-A One Man Army` and Rohan Sippy’s `Nautanki Saala`, were never expected to set the box-office on fire, nor was it the case as both opened to a dull response`! As things stand, there is little to choose between the two new releases (even with the not so good collections) but the improvement is likely to be more for `Nautanki Saala`, as compared to `Commando- A One Man Army` (despite more prints), due to the high end audience who frequent the multiplexes during the weekend, and the signs are already there!

 Chashme Baddoor  Verdict: Hit
 Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 30 crore ; UK£51,000 ; US$150,000  Total Earnings: India Rs. 30 crore ; UK£51,000 ; US$150,000
After a reasonably good opening weekend, last Friday’s David Dhawan directed Ali Zafar starrer, `Chashme Baddoor` saw rock steady collections during the week days as well. Given the reasonable second Friday, and the 20 crore all inclusive cost `Chashme Baddoor` is all set to be a clean hit, given the second weekend progress. The film is also doing decently in some Overseas circuits.

 Himmatwala  Verdict: Flop
 Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 42 crore ; UK£207,000 ; US$263,000  Total Earnings: India Rs. 42 crore ; UK£207,000 ; US$263,000
Director: Sajid Khan  Producer: Vashu Bhagnani Ronnie Screwvala Siddharth Roy Kapur
 Music: Sajid-Wajid  Lyrics:
Starring: Ajay Devgan, Tamannaah, Paresh Rawal, Mahesh Manjrekar, Adhyayan Suman Zarina Wahab
 Genre:  Recommended Audience: General
Meanwhile Sajid Khan’s `Himmatwala`, failed to improve or consolidate after a reasonably good first day (around 11 crore, and ended the week with below par numbers. The film has also failed to emulate the success of Sajid’s previous releases in the Overseas.

 Aatma  Verdict: Average
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 0.70 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 10 crore
Meanwhile, the collections of Suparn Verma’s `Aatma` crashed in the second week (after a reasonable opening week). The 8 crore budget film is an average fare, after accounting for the non-theatrical rights.

Mere Dad Ki Maruti  Verdict: Below average
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 3 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 11 crore
Moving on, Y-Films’ `Mere Dad Ki Maruti` saw an alarming fall second week onwards, but will be a break even project, for the makers who hold all the non-theatrical rights.

 Jolly L.L.B.  Verdict: Hit
Weekly Earnings: India Rs. 2 crore  Total Earnings: India Rs. 30.50 crore
Concluding with Subhash Kapoor’s Arshad, Amrita and Boman starrer, `Jolly L.L.B.`the film continues its winning run and is now a clean hit.
