This week`s major release is Abbas-Mustan`s `Naqaab` and features Bobby, Akshaye and debutant Urvashi Sharma. Given the team`s previous success record, the superb promotion (that has really hyped the movie) and also the fact that the music has caught on quite well, `Naqaab` is expected to commence a good innings at the box-office

`Journey Bombay To Goa`, that features mostly comedy artists from television, started on a dull note and has no chances of survival.

The animated `My Friend Ganesha`, had hopes of striking a chord with the kids. While that did not happpen in a big way, there was some hope as the week progressed. It has to be seen if the improvement was good enough.

`Apne` featuring the Deol family, won immense appreciation from one section of the audience but there is another section that has problems with its length and pace. Still, as the first week progressed, `Apne` picked up further in East Punjab, U.P. and parts of Gujarat. The movie also made up for the rain related losses during the first weekend in Bombay, by being very steady during the second one. While `Apne` has generally done very well in the Overseas, it is rock steady in the UK

`Aap Kaa Surroor` had an enriching first week. As we had indicated last week also, the Himesh starrer raced ahead of the competition and although the inevitable drop started on day 4 and 5, the first week shares are enough to take it to the `A` status. Shares from the small centres are phenomenal. The Himesh Reshammiya movie has also performed well in the UK, doubling its first weekend total with quite a steady run.

`Awarapan` was badly hit, rather squished between `Aap Kaa Surroor` and `Apne`, as we had said last week. Had it released just a week later, it could have been another story. The movie has done well for an Emraan Hashmi starrer but the collections are nothing to write home about.

Yash Raj`s `Jhoom Barabar Jhoom` is on its last legs in India. It is now clear that the movie is the first in five years where Yash Raj have lost money. In the Overseas too, `Jhoom Barabar Jhoom` has been rejected in the US, but has fared much better in the UK, though it has seen another massive fall there also.
