For a much delayed (starless) film , that most in India had had already seen on pirated DVDs , it is indeed a creditable performance.

It is definately a signal for director Madhur Bhandarkar to stop and rethink.. After `Page 3` his `Corporate` barely managed to break even in some circuits and the below par performance of his latest offering will stick out like a red mark in his report card as `Traffic Signal` has done well only in parts of Bombay and Maharashtra in the second week.

After the debacle of `Mein Prem Ki Deewani Hoon`, Sooraj Barjatya finally tastes success. With the oft-repeated traditional milieu and subject, `Vivah` has the same soap-operatic melodrama, this time though made on a significantly lower budget with a low-key cast. With a clever distribution strategy using a limited number of prints, the film sold reasonably runs steady even in its 14th week. Another critically trashed film, another financial success.

The heavily priced multistarrer crashed is breathing its last and while the Indian distributors will lose about Rs. 4.50 crores (barring Bombay & Delhi circuit, where Eros released it), the exhibitors across India are set to lose a whopping Rs. 2.5 to 3 crores . However Eros can take solace from the fact that the movie is a superhit in the Overseas.
