The critically panned Feroze, Anil, Nana, Akshay, Katrina and Mallika (guest appearance) starrer `Welcome`, was off to an extraordinary start in Bombay. By and large the opening was fantastic everywhere. The film also held its collections over the week. The Anees Bazmee directed `Welcome` is also doing roaring business in most overseas markets, specially in the UK, but is not on the same level in US, as per initial indications.

The Darsheel, Aamir and Tisca Chopra starrer, `Taare Zameen Par`, was off to a slow start in Bombay but picked up quite well to end the day on a good note. Outside of Bombay, the critic favourite movie was fair in some circuits and dull in others. Once again a pronounced pick up was noticed in cities like Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The positive word-of-mouth seems to be working in a big way for Aamir Khan`s directional debut venture. In the Overseas, `Taare Zameen Par` has faired poorly in the UK, but is doing much better in the US.
