The Scoop

Aishwarya Still A Part of “Jab Dil Mile”
With the intense rumors about Salman hitting everyone left and right and ruining Aishwarya’s blossoming career, an investigation as to all the falsifications regarding her upcoming films was done. Trade Analysts insist she will not be a part of Aziz Mirza’s next which features her opposite Shah Rukh Khan in a romance with music by Jatin-Lalit and lyrics by Javed Akhtar. But the actress has already started shooting for the film, which is scheduled for an early 2003 release.

It was then immediately rumored that she was out of Mukta Art’s next Jab Dil Mile. But Mukta Arts quickly denied the rumor officially declaring that while the film itself has been put on hold, Jab Dil Mile is officially in production with the reported star cast of Arjun Rampal and Aishwarya Rai. Aishwarya’s casting manager had stated that they have a commitment with Mukta Arts. The film was scheduled to go on the floors this past August but Mukta Arts has stated that it will go on the floors in upcoming months. In fact, Anu Maliik has already recorded a few songs with the late Anand Bakshi for Jab Dil Mile, which is directed by Anupham Sinha. It is yet to be seen if a late change will be made for the film and if Aishwarya is no more a part of it. If indeed Mukta Arts does stick with Aishwarya, this will be the third film she has with Arjun Rampal. Her home production Dil Ka Rishtaa will be witnessed this December and Rajiv Rai’s Asambhav is in production.

Mukta Arts Film Production Race
Meanwhile, the much-anticipated Subhash Ghai film, which will be a multi-starrer, will be launched on October 24th. The big budget venture will be revealed alongside Mukta Arts’ other two productions with Madhur Bhandarkar and Sanjay Chhel on that same day. To keep the tradition of big films and family themes, Mukta Arts plans on releasing the film, untitled, in Diwali of 2003. And on the same note, Ghai’s next biggie Ek Aur Ek Gyarah, directed by David Dhawan and featuring Govinda, Sanjay Dutt, Amrita Arora, Jackie Shroff and Nandini Singh is quickly wrapping up and preparing for a December release. Ek Aur Ek Gyarah has music by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy with lyrics by Sameer.

Mukta Arts, a continuously growing banner has also launched “Mukta Prime 3 Teleworks”, which is a television production company. Always on the positive side the company did declare their losses to their recent Badhaai Ho Badhaai and Yaadein but also mentioned that the satellite rights more than made up for the losses.

Akshay Kumar’s Biggest Film Yet?
Just receiving god’s greatest gift, a son, Akshay Kumar could not be happier. He had officially joined the top line bracket of actors for some time now. Barring the disastrous Haan Maine Bhi Pyaar Kiya where Akshay was the author backed character that ended up the loser; Akshay Kumar has been the recipient of many successful films. Aankhen and Awara Paagal Deewana being a few of them.

Akshay has now rumored to have signed with Raj Kumar Santoshi for his next film supposedly titled ´Gheroo´. The film is said to co-star a lead actress who has not been seen a lot this year. Apparently, Santoshi feels that ‘the name’ of an actress is at times worth more then they themselves. He has now taken the approach at featuring non-big female leads in his upcoming films unless he feels that the heroine will not be the main lead. The film has not been unofficially launched nor has Raj Kumar Santoshi confirmed the main leads. A.R. Rahman and Anu Maliik are being considered for the music. Meanwhile Santoshi is still working on the religious epic, which he had received a grant to complete.

Bipasha and Dino Take No Blame for “Gunaah”
Gunaah has not only disappointed at the box office but its content has been the squirm of filmi goers! The film has not been declared a flop and trade analysts do say that the film may turn out a safe prospect for its distributors but can’t refute the fact that the film is a tad below tacky. Bipasha Basu who has tasted failure in Chor Machaaye Shor was taut as the film had her in what was less than a supporting role. Now, with Gunaah she quickly did not fail to mention that as a young actress she follows her director’s rules and has no say in the role. Bipasha, however, has nothing to worry about as her role was appreciated. It´s hubby Dino Morea who had hopes pinned on the flick who will seemingly have to work harder in upcoming ventures.
