October may have been a quiet month as far as film releases go, but from the last week of October to the first few weeks of November, several big films are going to be mounted. Featuring big names like Amitabh Bachchan, Ram Gopal Varma and Ashutosh Gowariker, here is a heads up as to films whose sets are to be mounted shortly.

Black

Produced and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, this is will be his second film in the works after Devdas, the other being the Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor starrer Baijaro Mastani. In the film, Bhansali will, for now, accomplish a goal of directing Amitabh Bachchan. Rani Mukherjee serves as the female lead.

Gaayab

The Varma Corp. is not haulting their triple film productions any time soon. This film is produced by Ram Gopal Varma and directed by Prawaal Raman his long time assistant. No surprise that Antara Mali stars as the female lead but it is a surprise that Tusshar Kapoor and Viven Bhatena will star opposite her.

Kahin Aag Na Lag Jaaye

No, it´s not the song from Taal, but it sure sounds a lot like it! Produced by Barkat k. Sunesara under the banner of Saif International this one is directed by well known director Parto Ghosh and features a fresh teamed cast of Esha Deol, Shilpa Shetty and Milind Soman.  Other credits include story penned by Pradeep Ghatak, screenplay by Ranbir Pushp and Pradeep Ghatak, dialogue by Ranbir Pushp, music by Anand Raj Anand with lyrics by Praveen Bharadwaj.

Indira Gandhi -A Tryst With Destiny

Controversy fails to avert Manisha Koirala. Her most recent flirt with it was for this historical film when persons claimed she was unfit to portray the role of Indira Gandhi. Well, the film is happening anyways, though there have been murmurs of Manisha not featuring in the film.  Produced by Nittin Keni under the banner of Maharani Padmini Devi Pratishthabn, directed by N. Chandra, written by Kamleshwar and music by Hridaynath Mangeshkar.

Rakht

After a lull, Mahesh Manjrekar will resurrect himself in this film (despite having Pyaar Kiya Nahin Jaatha in the pipelines for over a year). Produced by Sunil Shetty and Vijay Mallya under the banner of Popcorn Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. the film stars Sanjay Dutt, Dino Morea, Bipasha Basu,  John Abraham and Rajat Bedi. The shooting of this film begun on the 2nd-3rd of October. 

Mehsoos 

Produced by Nitin Shetty with direction, story and screenplay by Dheeraj Singh and dialogues by Sultan. The film stars Karan Nath, Amrita Arora and Riya sen with music by Daboo Malik and lyrics by Sameer.

Swades

The much talked about upcoming film produced and directed by Lagaan director Ashutosh Gowarikar and UTV featuring Shah Rukh Khan should be mounted during this time period. 

1857-The Rising 

The other much talked about film, 1857-The Rising, produced by Bobby Bedi, directed by Ketan Mehta is also headed for a mounting during this time period. Featuring Amir Khan, Rani Mukerjee, Aishwarya Rai, Toby Stephens and Damien Lewis with music by A.R. Rahman. 

Waqt- A Race Against Time 

Produced by Manmohan Shetty, Kishore Lulla, Sunil Lulla and Vipul Amrutlal Shah under the banner of Blockbuster Films, this will be director Vipul Amrutlal Shah´s next after Deewar: Let´s Bring Our Heroes Home. Written by Aatish Kapadia the film re-teams Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal after Aankhen.
