Went in to see the film with high expectations. On the whole, I was not disappointed. The best part is the intelligent humor in the film - all based on normal situations we find oursleves in everyday among friends, as opposed to forced, slapstick situations more common in Bollywood cinema.

Male lead performances are up to par. Saif is finidng a niche in comedy and Akshay in emotional roles. Aamir is pretty versatile and pulls this part off with great panache. Female leads have little screen time, although Dimple impresses with her piece. Preity has the conventional heroine role, so not much for her to do other than look pretty. Sonali is barely visible.

One start observation is that the movie dwells on the lives of the very well-to-do, as exhibited by playboy Aamir's lifestyle. Nice visuals, though.

My disappointment was that such intelligent filmmaking has been applied to the most beaten-to-death theme in Hindi cinema - romance, unrequited and otherwise. I wait for the day when Bollywood filmmakers get past their addiction to romance, and focus on other interesting genres such as action-adventure, suspense (e.g. heist movies), sophisticated crime, business and finance, and so on.

I gather there is a recent focus in Bollywood on producing world class animation flicks - now that would be a first, and a good use of the computer savvy of India professionals!
