Santoshi comes up with a winner[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Lajja Forum ] Posted by Jay on September 02, 2001 at 11:16:03: I have been looking forward to this movie for ages and it has lived up to my expectations albeit the ending was a bit silly in that how they all end up in New York. Moreover Manisha should have never accepted Jackie but then Indian audiences like happy endings dont they? It is a bold film, which is good in every department but scores specifically with the performances, Manisha is brilliant, and she has lost weight, she looks good and acts very well. Madhuri is pure dynamite, she is still a strong force to be recommended with. Rekha is good too. Mahima doesn't have much footage but her mandap out burst had the audiences clapping and whistling in the aisles. Anil is good though he doesn't have much of a role, Jackie is good as the sadistic husband and Ajay is good too though his character is a bit filmi. Worth watching for the super performances and a historic starcast. No disapointments unlike other big budget yawnathons - hint think a recent showman's film. My rating 8.5/10 Laterz
