A very in-depth review of 'Lajja' and as the movie the review itself was GOOD enough. Someone who has seen the movie would agree with almost all of it but the following:

'Lajja is a far cry from a masterpiece, it lacks the emotional intensity of other meaningful cinema that preach social messages (Astitiva, Satya, Shool).'

I think 'Lajja' has almost the right blend of emotional intensity and entertainment value (i.e. very essential for a movie to reach to the masses) which the movies like Astitiva, Satya, and Shool lack. And in this respect it is more meaningful (especially in India) in serving its purpose.
It’s like a preacher that speaks local language against a preacher that speaks foreign language.
