I think I said it felt like a classic at some points. I dont think it is a classic, because it is deeply deeply flawed. So I guess if I gave you that impression, its my mistake.
Quite simply, what I was saying was that there are some moments and some scenes in the movie which somehow manage to elevate to great levels. Those moments somehow managed to emotionally connect with me.
You know, you can make a movie by meticulously planning every single scene and dialogue of the movie(like James Cameroon did in Titanic), make it technically perfect, yet that does not guarentee that your movie will have a soul. That does not guarentee that your movie will connect with the audience in a special way(I am not saying anything against Titanic, I am using it as an example of a well made film).
I really felt that, Yaadein, atleast in some parts and at some moments, made that connection.
