this story would have been longer" How I wish Subhash Ghai had read this
before launching on Yaadein. Then he
would have ended his film right where it
should have: after Rati Agnihotri dies -- in
the first reel, that is. Because after that, the story can be summed up thus: Hritik Roshan is shown to be a
best friend to Jackie Shroff who does a really bad job of trying to be a best friend to his
daughters. There's as much story here as in saying "I ate a banana, then I ate an apple
and then I slept." In the second half, Hritik Roshan goes crazy trying to get Kareena to say I love you, and
the whole thing is just about as moving as the thought of Romeo breaking his heart over a
Barbie doll. That's it. And then Subhash Ghai has the audacity to take credit for
"scripting" and "editing" and "direction"!!!!
