Bad word-of-mouth publicity killed Yaadein in the second week of its release in North America and the UK. The film registered a staggering 73% drop in North America in the second week, the steepest ever registered for an Indian film. Most average Indian movies drop about 50% in the second week. This year's slowest dropper has been the critically acclaimed LAGAAN. In the U.K. also, the film Yaadein has dropped 49% in the second week. Even in India, a lot of the movie theaters have taken of Yaadein as a bad memory and gone back to LAGAAN and GADAR. Furthermore, a bigger drop in Yaadein's sales are expected this weekend as DIL CHAHTA HAI hits the marquee. With Indya.com's 5-star rating for DIL CHAHTA HAI, it is no doubt that it will give the previously released movies a run for the money.
