While Anu Maliik continues to change the spelling of his last name from Malik to Mallik to Maliik other music directors continue to work harder on their music rahter than filling the paperwork to change their last names. Kyaa Dil Ne Kaha is a perfect example of this case; Himesh Reshammiya has come out with an above average album. Himesh´s first popular song "Odh Li Chunariya" was from the album Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya, in which the rest of the songs were composed by Jatin-Lalit. Since then he has had a couple albums, but, by far, this album has been his best.

The title song, the first song of the album is a well composed romantic number sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan. Alka and Udit sing the song with ease. Although its a romantic number, there is a certain freshness that is seen in this track. Himesh tried hard to keep this one catchy, yet original. Overall, this song is a bit above average.

Sanjay Chhel´s lyrics in the next song are the big story... Nikkama Kiya Is Dil Ne Kiya Hai Nikkama/ Aashiqui Chaahta Hai Zindigi Ujarta Hai... interesting, to say the least. The song also comes in two parts one with more Shaan than the other. Shaan and Sanjivini sing the song with delight. Sanjivini was introduced in Kareeb; she had several hit songs in that album, including "Chori Chori". Sanjivini sounds more mature now, and her voice is also brings a bit of freshness into this song.

The next song, "Tanha Tanha", is another fast paced number sung by Shaan and Alka Yagnik. Shaan´s singing is wonderful, and the song´s beat and music is good, although it seems to be derived from the twist era. Still, the song stands out as another above average song on the album.

"Sajana Tere Pyar Main" is another Udit-Alka love duet. Again, the singing is first class. This time, the music is a little bit lackluster, though the song itself is very catchy. Chhel´s lyrics are above average, though nothing Javed Akhtar or Gulzar caliber. Another above average number.

"Piya Pyar Kyon Kiya" is the best song in the album, that starts off with Damyanti Bardal singing a line in a Rajastani style. Kavita K Subramanium sings her part brilliantly. Her part has very high notes, but she carries them off very well, and the ending is very classical which is her specialty. The chorus is actually very catchy. Udit Narayan sings towards the end of the song, and is wonderful also. The music is fast paced, mellow, and very well done. Actually, the mix of Indian and Western instruments, beats, and ragas is really quite well done. Although this may not be the most popular song from this album, this song is the best done.

The last song, "Zindagi, Yeh Dillagi" is the only song that really isn´t worth mentioning much about. Shaan sings the song well, though.

A great job by Himesh Reshammiya this time-for the first time, I´ve been impressed by Himesh´s music. This movie should be another good opportunity for Tusshar Kapoor. Hopefully he shows his acting and dancing is a little bit better than the popular although horrible "Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai". I still don´t understand how that movie was one of the top grossers in a year that had movies like "Dil Chata Hai" and "Lagaan". Esha Deol also has a good opportunity to prove what route she is going to walk on in the industry -- the Rinky or Kareena route.
