This Lekh Tandon directed movie has Meenakshi Sheshadari, Milind Gunaji and Kanwaljeet Singh in leading roles.
A-side starts with a fun filled number "Kaun mila mohe hai re, baadal banke chhaye re" sung by Asha Bhosle (with great enthusiasm) and chorus. It has fantastic dance music. The chorus compliments Asha Bhosle's singing beautifully.
The second song "Kahti hai purvai, jungal mein raat aayee" is sung by Sudesh Bhosle, Bhupen Hazarika and chorus. It has a folk dance tune. The singers' voices blend very well.
The last song is a slow typical "lori". "Aayee neend dheere se raat mein" sung by Kavita Krishnamurti in melodious voice.
B-side starts with Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurti singing a beautiful duet "Shaam dhali ban mein, mehaki hawa". The song has magnificent orchestration with superb wording which makes one sing along and finger tap.
The second song "Itna bata do" is an ordinary sounding song sung by Udit Narayan.
The last song "Paas mere aao" is another great worded and orchestrated song sung by Udit Narayan in his "mast" style, reminiscent of "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge" and "Koyla". It has foot tapping rythm and hummable tune.
Plus Films has come out with their fourth great album (after Papa Kahte Hain, Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin and Saaz). Javed Akhtar has penned great lyrics for one movie after another, and has been able to deliver hits with different music directors. Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner Bhupen Hazarika has composed for some Hindi movies earlier, but the music has not been very popular. However, with Plus Films reputation and great songs, this album is bound to be a hit.
