I have one question for Anu Malik, "why do you bother?" Only two songs in this album are worth even listening to. You may think that the size of the songs would be different from this combination's last venture, but the size is the same, long! All six of these songs sound like they have been copied from other songs. To start the album off, "O Mere Sanam", sung by Udit Naryan, Abhijeet, and Alisha Chinoy, reminds me of "Mein Khiladi Tu Anari" also sung by Udit and Abhijeet. Alisha is her normal annoying self in this song, but Udit and Abhijeet raise the height of the song. The second song, "Masoom Sanam", starts off sounding like "Hoton Ke Bas" from Yeh Dillagi, then changes to Anu's Gambler-type slow song rhythm. Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu render this song fairly easily, sounding like their old Nadeem- Shravan classics.

"Bam Bam Bam" sung separately by Alisha Chinoy and Udit Naryan is a classic showing of lousy lyrics and (in Udit's song's case) slight vulgar (but not even close to Khuddar, the original version). The songs sounds like it was copied from Bappi Lahri's old songs. When the fourth song started my reaction was "Not again!" "Kaali Aankhon Wali" (this is one of the listenable ones) is a mixture of "Yeh Kaali Kaali Aankhen" and "My Adorable Darling", from Baazigar and Mein Khiladi Tu Anari, respectively. Kumar Sanu sings the song beautifully, as Anu Malik (not printed on the label) is doing his "Man Dole" with great annoying success. "Dil Mein Ho Pyar" sung by Sadhna Sargam (misprinted as Alka Yagnik on the label, Venus does this many times) and Kumar Sanu justifies the recent accusing of Anu Malik copying Nadeem Sharavan . Kumar Sanu and Sadhna Sargam render the song fairly easily as they probably are used to singing these types of songs!

Overall, Surakshaa continues Anu Malik's downfall as a composer. His recent works, like Gambler, Zaalim, and others have been moderate disasters, unlike his first few albums. Added to a new list of disasters is Surakshaa, a great disaster.
