As expected, and arguably never falling short of it, the Ram Gopal Varma camp always promises a unique different film. The idea has become so much so that once the name Ram Gopal Varma has been attached to a product (whether he be the presenter, director or producer) the word hype is not far from it.

This year sees Ajay Devgan in a kaleidoscope of roles, from the romantic in Chori Chori, the army man in Line of Control and a rouge unkind businessman in Boney Kapoor & Ram Gopal Varma’s Company. To support him is the much talked about debut of Vivek Oberoi, and supporting female leads Manisha Koirala and Antara Mali. Urmila gossip aside, the female star cast is enough to pull the audiences to the theatre, let alone its intense, and undoubtedly raw subject matter.

Company has a score by Sandeep-Chowta, whose score for Jungle went un-noticed and whose work in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya has been spoken about endlessly (after all who can forget Rhounde?) For that point, Chowta has arguably topped Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya with a potential chartbuster sung by the Queen bee of chartbusters- Asha Bhonsle, the title, “Khallas!” Ram Gopal Varma has expressed his beliefs that the film shouldn´t even have a music score. In fact for a short time it was believed that it didn´t. However, the producers and distributors of the film insisted he have at least two songs (we are to assume there are more) or else they wouldn´t distribute it. Thus, we have a T-Series soundtrack. Let the anticipation begin.

A Law And Order Enterprise

Let’s keep the story short. The film parallels the infinite subject matter of business and crime. “Company is the now touching, intimidating, now moving saga of the rise and fall of a criminal empire and the men and woman who run it.” In essence, the main protagonist is Ajay Devgan. His business is no normal business, but the business of crime. When one joins his business, they can’t leave but can reap as many benefits from it as they want. Vivek Oberoi is one such man who joins his business. The company envelopes profit and anything that breaks their profit finds destruction. To overcome their obstacle and achieve their indelible goal- they use one thing- fear.

Your bound to be surprised at the pain, agonies, executions, (Chief Execution Officer) and obituaries you will see [supposedly without any blood shed] in Ram Gopal Varma’s Company.
