Lata Mangeshkar to commemorate ‘Ae Mere Vatan Ke Logon’ on 27 Jan

A large function celebrating the golden jubilee of the song ‘Ae Mere Vatan Ke Logon’ is being organized on January 27, 2014, to remember War Heroes who put their lives on the line for the nation. On behalf of our country, our martyrs and soldiers, Bharat Ratna, Ms. Lata Mangeshkar will be felicitated for her immortal and patriotic song by Respected Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi. Shahid Gaurav Samiti’s convener, Mr. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, MLA says that the golden jubilee is being celebrated to incarnate the ethos of nationalism and patriotism among in Indians for the them to remember this for the generations to come.

The program being organized by Shahid Gaurav Samiti in association with Lodha Foundation will be held on January 27, 2014 starting 6pm at Racecourse, Mahalaxmi. Many celebrities and national figure along with more than one lac Indians are expected to sing along the song in presence of Ms. Lata Mangeshkar. The function is MLA Lodha’s brainchild based on the 1962 war between India and China. Widows and Families from various wars with China and Pakistan have been specially invited to this event. According to Shahid Gaurav Samiti’s General Secretary, Veermata Anuradha Gore, this event will see over 100 Param Vir Chakra, Mahaveer Chakra and other gallantry award winners being felicitated along with their families.

Many soldier and officers from all three parts of defence forces are expected to gather in large numbers. It’s important to mention that January 27 is an important day for us. After the 1962 war, on the same day in 1963, Lata Mangeshkar sang this song remembering all the martyrs who lost their lives defending the country. Mumbai will celebrate 27 Jan as – Shreshtha Bharat Divas. More than 100 martyrs family will be felicitated the event and renowned singers will perform patriotic songs.
