The teaser of 'Laila Majnu', a film directed by Imtiaz Ali's younger brother Sajid Ali has caught the attention of the netizens. The teaser, resplendent with some striking visuals and a lovely song ('Hafiz Hafiz'), has got one curious about the film which releases on August 30, 2018. The film has been produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures and Preety Ali. While Sajid's elder brother Arif had made his debut in 2014 with 'Lekar Hum Deewana Dil', 'Laila Majnu' will mark Sajid's debut as a feature film director. Actually, this is his first film to hit the theatres but not his debut!

Sajid had directed a film called 'Banana' which was rechristened as 'F.L.A.M.E.S' at a later stage for John Abraham's production company JA Entertainment. The film was shot way back in 2013 and is yet to see the light of day. The film was set in Jamshedpur, where Sajid and his brothers grew up, and traced the journey of a bunch of school kids from adolescence to their teenage days. Zeeshan Quadri, best known for his work in 'Gangs Of Wasseypur 2', was the main antagonist in the film.

Interestingly, 'Banana' or 'F.L.A.M.E.S' is not the only film produced by John that is languishing in the cans. The actor had co-produced a film called ''Satrah Ko Shaadi Hai' with Shoojit Sircar and Disney UTV. The film, starring Barun Sobti, Sapna Pabbi and Harshvardhan Rane, was shot in 2014 and is still awaiting a release.
