In a first of it’s kind in Bollywood, the Central Board of Film Certification, CBFC summoned Anurag Kashyap, producer of this Friday’s release ‘Shaitan’ to announce that smoking and doing drugs are injurious to health as they were not merely satisfied by a mere announcement that flashes on the screen at the start of the film. The CBFC insisted that the producer himself appear on screen and announce a two line statement saying that smoking and doing drugs are injurious to health and that was because his film ‘Shaitan’ shows characters smoking and consuming drugs.
It was only after this was done that the CBFC cleared the film and issued it an ‘A’ certificate!
