A foreign Tourism body will be funding a Bollywood movie, starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan, for the first time, catapulting Indian cinema to new heights of glory.Producer Ritesh Sidhwani's 'Don 2' is being financed by Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, on Commission basis for the very first time in Bollywood, Spokesperson for 'Locations' Parul Chawla said in Bombay.
A panel, consisting of Christiane Raab, Chief Film Commissioner - Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, Nina Zantout, Executive Asst- CEO Berlin Tourism and Kongress (Visit Berlin), Arunima Roy, producer Ritesh Sidhwani and Sudhanshu Hukku, Founder Director-'Locations' and Session Moderator discussed the funding process of 'Don 2', here today. Hukku, Founder, director, locations, said, "Furthering and proving the very concept of locations exhibition conference, which is based on the idea of films which are catalyst to tourism now in its 9th annual edition. At the locations exhibition confernece, several countries would be present to explore the possiblities with more Indian producers", he added. The business of sourcing International Locations is worth around Rs 500 crore (100 million US dollar) and is growing. The 'Locations Exhibition Conference 2011' provides an opportunity for Mumbai filmmakers, producers, directors, production houses, location scouts to directly interact with the participating countries and regions at the Event for their future project needs, Hukku said. The present contingents will also provide the information to the filmmakers and others on available governmental support like tax rebates and subsidies.
