Garuav Dayal of BeatFactory who has composed for films including Onir’s “Sorry Bhai” and “Say Salaam India” has recently composed the score for Los Angeles based writer-director Amanda Sodhi’s short film “Through Bloodshot Eyes.” The film traces the change in dynamics in an abusive Indian father-son relationship spanning over two decades when the tables suddenly turn. ((

“It was refreshing to work on a dark short score for Amanda’s film,” said Gaurav Dayal. “It was a change from composing more commercial music.”((

Sodhi previously co-wrote award-winning filmmaker Rohit Gupta’s feature film “Life! Camera Action…” for which she shared a nomination in the “Best Screenplay” category with him at the World Music & Independent Film Festival earlier this year.((

Dayal has also composed for Orange Canvas Films’ upcoming film “Chalo Driver” and is all set to launch a new Web site,, on Christmas this year which sells Indian audio loops and sounds. “This is for all composers, DJs and producers and features royalty free loops and sounds which customers can download in major formats including Apple loops, acid wav and REX. The loop packs will have instrument phrases and Indian percussion as well as construction kit style loop packs for easy inspiration for any production.” The loops will be aimed at the dance industry, especially hip-hop dancers. It will be the first Web site dedicated to royalty free high quality Indian sounds.

"Through Bloodshot Eyes" stars Ramaan Desai, Avtar Chadda, and Puppy Manohar and brings Arani Sen ("Til Death Do Us Part," "6 Women") as the director of photography, Mark Thomas Lickona ("Chaotic," "Alphonse") as the editor and Damian Parada ("Horton Hears a Who!") as the sound designer and sound mixer.
