AMTH stars Sharad Kapoor (Dastak, Tamanna, and Vishwavidhaata), Suman Ranganathan (Fareb, forthcoming R.K. film Aa Ab Laut Chalen), and newcomer Rohit Roy. The film is an okay love tale with many twists and a different plot line. Unfortunately, just because the plot is different does not mean that the film is super. The film is nice enough though, with melodious music and good acting.

Sharad and Suman play doomed lovers Prem and Puja. Puja and Prem want to marry, but an astrologer claims that a year from now, Prem will die and Puja will be involved in his murder. So Prem and Puja separate from each other and Puja marries Pratap (Rohit Roy), a rich business man. Pratap worships his mother Ranimaa (Rakhee Gulzar) and dislikes his evil uncle, who is jealous of RanimaaĀ“s wealth. After the wedding of Pratap and Puja, the two embark on their honeymoon to Europe. Pratap is then killed in a bad car accident, leaving a heartbroken Puja alone. She runs back to her ex-lover, Prem, who is now a rich lawyer. The astrologerĀ“s prediction becomes true and Puja is caught up in a messy court case that will decide her fate.

Aankhon Mein Tum Ho is not that bad a film. It is actually an all right film. If only the direction had been handled with more care. Adding the astrology part in the script was a mistake. The whole movie is built on some person who can tell the future. Another concept that Bollywood has dealt with too many times is that of a look-a-like. A side plot in the movie was that a look-a-like of Pratap showed up. It is too unbelievable. Other than that, there are many other plot twists that keep the viewer guessing. Acting on the parts of the entire cast is great. Sharad performs well as does his leading lady Suman. Suman Ranganathan is a beautiful lady who can act very well. Though she struggled with the dancing in the cabaret number "Sab Kehte Hain...", she did all right with everything else. She has even bagged an R.K. film opposite Akshaye Khanna. That is pretty good for a newcomer. Rohit Roy performs very well also. The music of AMTH was very nice. The title track is the best, though Anu has composed some other nice romantic tunes. Direction is a big problem. It is partially the downfall of the film. I have never seen another movie by Ashim S. Samanta, but if another film of his exists, I donĀ“t want to see it. He has royally fouled up this movie. For a movie with no star value, it had potential. Unfortunately, a bad script and TERRIBLE direction shot AMTH down. The movie is barely watchable for itĀ“s performances and music. If you are looking for an intellectual movie with a strong script, donĀ“t see AMTH. But if a fun and romantic story is what you crave, rent it. Aankhon Mein Tum Ho is a movie to pass time on a rainy day, not a movie to win awards.
