BETAABI is an original movie. Originality makes the movie interesting. Chandrachur Singh plays Sameer, a poor man who falls in love with rich girl Sheena (Anjala Zaveri). Sheena┬┤s father is involved with a major crime boss Brij (Gulshan Grover) who is after Sheena┬┤s father. Arshad Warsi plays Vicky, a small time crook hired by Brij to kidnap Sheena and hold her for ransom. Sheena happens to be a girl who lives on the wild side. She dares Sameer to kidnap her and take her to the Gateway Of India in Mumbai in fifteen days. If he succeeds in doing so, Sheena will marry him. Complications arrive when Sameer accidently kidnaps Reshma (Mayuri Kango), Sheena┬┤s friend. Vicky suceeds in capturing Sheena. The four are then off to Bombay with Brij and his goons, while Sheena┬┤s father is in hot pursuit.
BETAABI has a great story that is quite entertaining. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Songs by Vishal are great. Not as good as they were in MAACHIS, but good enough. Direction is what makes the movie run at it┬┤s fast pace. The movie is very well written and produced by Paramjeet Baweja. Now for the performances. Warshi and Singh are excellent. Anjala and Mayuri look great and act well. Grover does a good job as a villain. Watch it.
