The songs on this album are not of the style usually associated with Nadeem-Shravan. The sound is more electronic and there is no sign of their favourite singing duo Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik! However, in their bid to be innovative, Nadeem-Shravan's efforts have resulted in some very mediocre songs, with the possible exception of two numbers.

The first of these exceptions is the title track, "Maharaja" by Udit Narayan and Kavita Krishnamurthy. The tune gradually hooks you and has you singing along by the end. Kavita's solo version is also enjoyable.

The second of these exceptions is "Jab Tum Aa Jaate Ho Saamne". This is a run of the mill love song but Sonu Nigam and Kavita Krishnamurthy make it worth listening to. They should really sing more duets as they sound great together.

Sonu's two solo numbers, "Thehro To Sahi" and "Hai Ajnabi" are okay but I found myself reaching for the fast forward button half way through. The compositions aren't attention-grabbing enough to sustain your interest.

"Ishq Mohabbat" has some very pessimistic and depressing lyrics by Maya Govind (her only song). Kavita seems so uninterested in what she is singing that the song ends up being devoid of any emotion.

Finally, we are subjected to some 'noise' titled, "Mera Pyara Mukhda". Kavita is forced to sing at an intolerably high pitch while Shankar Mahadevan is wasted as usual providing backing vocals!

Govinda and Manisha better come up with mind-blowing performances if they want this movie to do well, because the music isn't going to help them much!
