Guddu Dhanoa directed one of the big hits of this year
"Ziddi". He also directed Tridev Arts' last production
"Gundaraj"(1995). So, it is surprising that for his own production, he and other
producers chose Asrani to direct this movie.
After her immensely popular "Kale kale baal" from "Ziddi", Shweta Shetty is back singing another dynamic dance number "Chhat ke upar soi thi.... gaya re dank maar bichhua". The number has potential to be a hit. It has shades of "Chane ke khet mein" dance number from "Anjaam".
Abhijeet and Poornima sing a typical Anand Milind duet "Angrezee bhasha mein desi tota bole" which reminds of duets from "Raja Babu" and "Suhaag".
"Jab jab dekhun tujhe dil dhadke", "Badal garja, bijali chamkee, hone lagi barsaat" and "Kal raat sapne mein ek ladki aayee thi" are three usual duets sung by Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik. They all have rather simple wordings and give the impression that we have heard them before.
"Chahun tujhe raat din" sung by Vinod Rathod and Sadhana Sargam is a fast paced duet. Again the music and the beat indicate that similar songs have been heard previously.
In conclusion, there is nothing new or special in this offering. It sounds like one of those "collection of songs from different movies" album. It seems Anand Milind are getting bored with the commercial cinema and therefore providing sub-standard music for them (recent releases "Mrityudatta", "Lahoo Ke Do Rang", "Insaaf") and concentrating on off beat movies (e.g., "Mrityudand" and "Daayra") resulting in good music for them.
