Himesh Reshammiya is back with a vengeance! With his latest release creating fury all over and attracting more fans from every corner of the world, the whole soundtrack of Radio continues to fill the gap the music director left since his last release. Raju Singh presents a new sound in Pankh, with only two tracks and a theme. Sunidhi Chauhan receives a tailor-made song in ‘Ji Jala’. ‘Mama’ is an English song with a strong guitar acoustic accompaniment. The next release is The Great Indian Butterfly with an array of music directors like Deepak Pandit, Gourov Dasgupta, Vivek Philip and Shibani Kashyap. The music, as expected, caters for a niche audience with several English songs. |

Music: Nadeem-Shravan |
Lyrics: Sameer |
Audio On: Big Music |

‘Bebo’ is Nadeem-Shravan’s reply to Anu Malik’s naughty number in Kambakkht Ishq. If Anu Malik, after 30 years in the industry, can still make everyone hum ‘Bebo’, then Nadeem-Shravan is not going to sit quietly and watch. Vashu Bhagnani has roped in Sachin-Jigar to arrange the track with some upbeat sounds. Who wins the ‘Bebo’ competition? That’s up to the audience! Both songs are mixed by the talented Eric Pillai (Future Sound of Bombay) Neeraj Shridhar and Anushka Manchanda simply rock! Bebo is also an interesting song all the way with an edgy sound. Of course, each song has been composed for a specific situation. Who’s next with the ‘Bebo’ title? It would be interesting to see what A.R Rahman and Himesh Reshammiya can do with ‘Bebo’, if the opportunity arises? |

Apni Khoyi Hui |
Singers: Kailash Kher |
Best time to listen: At night |
|
Film: Mohandas |
The movie may be a small budget one, but the quality of the soundtrack is superior. Marketed by Saregama, Mohandas has captivating and soulful numbers by a range of talented singers. The composer Vivek Priyadarshan particularly brings back the essence of melody in this song. Overall, it shows the result when a music director uses a volcanic talent like Kailash Kher properly. The music is really beautiful. A must listen for music connoisseurs! |

Lyrics: Turaz, Babbu Mann, Sandeep Nath, Rahul B. Seth & Sandy |
Audio On: Eros Music |

Sharib-Toshi, after delivering one of the best soundtracks of this year; Jashn, returns to their trademark soulful melody in `Vaada Raha`. Toshi is again superb in his rendition of the title song. The only minus point is the chorus singing ‘I Promise’ in the background. After the super hit ‘Maahi’ in Raaz 2, it seems that Sharib-Toshi knows what they are doing. The director Samir Karnik, who earlier worked with Himesh Reshammiya in Nanhe Jaisalmer (with the child theme in the story), has a good ear for music. |

Music: Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Amit Trivedi (Guest) |
Lyrics: Javed Akhtar, Amitabh Bhattacharya (Guest) |
Audio On: Sony BMG |
|
Amit Trivedi is the current generation of talented music composers and he re-iterates the fact again with his soulful composition titled ‘Iktara’ in this Shankar-Eshaan-Loy soundtrack. Stuck at number 4 in the CD, the composer showcases that a number in the CD sleeve does not matter as long as the song is good! With the talented Kavita Seth in her usual avatar and Amitabh Bhattacharya providing the exceptional male vocals, ‘Iktara’ is a pleasant four minute journey; with plenty of good vibes! The semi-classical genre mixed with soft-rock is another winning formula. Listen to the long synthesizer music nearing the end of the song. Simply fantastic! |

After composing a couple of tracks for Mission Istanbul, Chirantan Bhatt gets his full-fledged movie. No doubt, he proves his versatility in the soundtrack, especially with `Tum Jo Kareeb`. Music: Himesh Reshammiya |
Lyrics: Subrat Sinha |
Audio On: T-Series |
|
There is no stopping for Himesh Reshammiya. From the man with the cap to a new stylish hair style, the music director-singer-actor has seen a lot of ups and downs since he rocked the world with Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Those who wrote him off after the failure of Karzzzz are watching him carefully again. Back with an interesting concept in Radio, the soundtrack sees the music director at his best. The romantic duo of Shreya Ghoshal and Himesh Reshammiya, which started with the title song of Aashiq Banaya Aapne and `Tere Mera Milna` in Aap Kaa Surroor is back with a series of lovely ballads. ‘Koi Na Koi Chahe’ is another beautiful and soothing number, filled with melody. |

.... And the No.1 Recommended Song of this Week is:
# 1 |
 |
Jao Na |
Singers: Sohail Sen, Tarannum Mallik |
Best time to listen: Morning |
|
|
Music: Sohail Sen |
Lyrics: Javed Akhtar |
Audio On: Sony Music |
|
Sohail Sen defies all odds and produces a fresh soundtrack, in synch with the theme of the movie. Comparisons do not need to be made, as each music director has a different background and approaches composing in another angle. Nevertheless, the young music director composes fresh and youthful songs, where everyone can connect so easily. ‘Jao Na’ relies heavily on the guitar riffs which are played amazingly in the background and the melodious interludes. And Sohail Sen, as the singer, is brilliant. The orchestration is near perfect, with an increasing emphasis on the crisp guitar, while he renders the high notes! No need to mention how he blends the piano into the song. Highly recommended! |
