| A.R Rahman`s Raavan continues to dominate the chart with `Ranjha Ranjha` and `Khili Re` in the Top 5. Like most of his songs, the audience usually takes time to understand and appreciate the songs. Vishal-Shekhar’s peppy songs in I Hate Luv Storys also show a progression. The choice of the singers made a huge difference to the quality of the songs. Pritam’s ‘Bheegi Si Bhaagi Si’, which is a melodious song from Raajneeti is also doing quite well. ‘Chaska’ and ‘I Don’t Know What To Do’ are on their last legs, but are still being enjoyed because the movies did well. A surprise entry is the little known song from the recently released Kushti. ‘Dangal’ by Shreya Ghoshal and Srinivas is a well-made ballad, with a strong South Indian flavor. Last week’s release: Kajraare Music: Himesh Reshammiya, Lyrics: Sameer Himesh Reshammiya ‘s soundtrack is going to be well received among the fans of the popular singer and music director. ‘Kajra Kajra Kajraare’ and ‘Rabba Luck Barsa’ have the Reshammiya stamp all over, while the rest enters into the romantic and semi-ghazal genres, which is mainly an extension of Radio’s songs. The remixes by DJ Lloyd and DISCREET are above average and make good use of beats. Overall, a good soundtrack, but could have been definitely much better. He hasn’t said his last word. Krantiveer – The Revolution Music: Sachin-Jigar, Lyrics: Sameer One would expect better music from this team, unfortunately, we are served with half-baked songs, recorded in a hurry. ‘Khuda Mere Khuda’ by Shreya Ghoshal and K.K can be described as average and comes as the only decent song. The light piece contains a wonderful performance from the romantic duo. The remaining three original songs are a misuse of talent of all the artists involved. Overall, a cacophony! Avoid. |
