There is more to the beautiful and talented actress Sai Tamhankar than what meets the eye. The versatile actress is passionate about contributing to the society and is actively associated with several causes, including Aamir Khan’s Paani Foundation.

Paani Foundation aims to communicate, impart knowledge and bring about a change in outlook among people at the grassroots about water conservation and watershed management.

Every year, on May 1, the stunning actress pays tribute to her motherland by doing ‘Shramdaan’, a voluntary initiative where city dwellers make a trip to the villages and lend villagers a hand in building watershed structures.

Irrespective of her busy schedule, Sai travels to the drought-ridden areas of Maharashtra to make a difference. Sai has been actively participating in ‘shramdaan’ for three years and this year she is making an appeal to everyone to join her in this noble cause of making Maharashtra drought-free.

Sai uploaded a heart-warming video appealing all her fans, colleagues and people of Maharashtra to come forward and do ‘shramdaan.’ The actress captioned the video as follows, “We have to win this fight together! For the past three years, I have gone back-to-back for shramdaan and it is a surreal experience. Here we create something and the joy of it cannot be expressed in words. We are heading towards drought free Maharashtra. And I appeal to all people of Maharashtra to come and do shramdaan on the 1st of May.”
