Along with 'Anarkali' and 'Pakeezah' , 'Umrao Jaan' is one of the most famous courtesans of India , especially cinematic India . And like all good courtesans , she weaves her magic on whosoever comes across her and we are not talking about the actresses portraying her on screen !

Anu Malik , who is composing the music for J.P. Dutta's present 'Umrao Jaan' , is totally smitten . Ever since he was roped in by J.P. , Anu can only talk , think and dream of 'Umrao Jaan' . He is through with composing the music but this time he is also , surprisingly , doing the background score for the movie . Quite surprising because in the last 15-16 years Anu has not done the background music of any film !
