Producer-director Karan Johar commenced the recording of songs for Dharma Productions' 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' last week at Purple Haze . Penned by Javed Akhtar , the songs are being set to tune by Shankar-Ehsan-Loy . The first song (title track) was rendered by Sonu Nigam .

The film starring Amitabh Bachchan , Shah Rukh Khan , Rani Mukerji , Preity Zinta and Abhishek Bachchan will have an initial stint in Bombay and then the unit will shift to New York , where the major part of the film will be shot .
