If Madhur Bhandarkar felt dissapointed on his National Award winning 'Page 3' not being selected , Subhash Ghai ( producer of 'Iqbal') appreciated the selection and said that the film represented Indian colour , culture , ethos and its mythical beliefs based on original work of an Indian writer .

Renowed filmmaker Mr. Shyam Benegal said that 'Paheli' was the right choice and it was just that people had thought that Amol Palekar could not make a commercial film which revovered its entire cost just from its overseas run .

Sudhir Mishra , whose international festivals runner 'Hazaaron Khwahishen Aisi' was also in the battle , wished producer Shah Rukh Khan all the best .
