Back in 2006, Mahesh Bhatt secretly went to Karachi to offer Pakistan's pace sensation, Shoaib Akhtar the title role in his 'Gangster'. The two met at the Pearl Continental Hotel.
For those who do not know, the role was originally meant for Sanjay Dutt but he was unable to take it up and Bhatt felt that the speedster had the same intensity and vulnerabilty as the Deadly Dutt'. Unfortunately the Rawalpindi Express refused and it was Shiney Ahuja who essayed the role. However, there is now news that Shoaib will be doing Bengali director Sanghamitra Chaudhuri's, 'Main Aur Meri Himmat'. Well here's wishing the best to Shoaib and hoping that the Bollywood maidens will be able to face his searing pace!
