Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is planning to pay a tribute to his homeland by making a Punjabi film on the traditional sports of the state.

The 43-year-old actor made the announcement in Patiala at the premiere of his new film 'Patiala House' with co-star Anushka Sharma at his side.

Accompanied by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, as Akshay reached the SRS Theater where the screening was held, a sea of humanity seemed to gather, choking every route to the theater.

Overwhelmed by the grand reception, Bollywood's original 'khiladi' said that even though he has acted in more than 125 films but this one was the closest to his heart.

He said that irrespective of the commercial success of 'Patiala House', this was his best film of his life.
