A Chandigarh court on Tuesday issued notices to Censor Board Chairperson, Sharmila Tagore and production company UTV, on a criminal complaint filed by a Rajput outfit and two Hindu groups, against the Bollywood film 'Jodhaa Akbar'.

Civil Judge Parveen Kumar Lal, while issuing the notices, asked Tagore and the company to file their replies by April 3.

A complaint for allegedly waging a war against the state under section 121 of IPC and certain other offences was on Monday filed in a district court here in connection with the film by Akhil Bharatiya Rajput Abhivakta Sangh president Arvind Thakur, Punjab Vishwa Hindu Parishad spokesman Vijay Singh Bhardwaj and International Hindu Sanrakshak Parishad General Secretary Shiv Murti Yadav.

The respondents in the complaint included Tagore, producers Ronnie Screwvala and Ashutosh Gowariker and UTV Software Company. The complaint alleged the film sought to promote enmity between different classes and contained words with the intent of hurting religious feelings.

Several groups owing allegiance to Rajput and Hindu outfits had protested in front of cinemas halls and theatres here when the movie was released on February 15.
