Aditya Chopra Commences Legal Proceedings For Divorce

Legendary director-producer Yash Chopra's son, Aditya Chopra, has filed an application in Bombay's Bandra family court, seeking divorce from his legally wedded wife Payal Khanna. As is well known, Aditya, after moving out of his father's house, has been living in a five star hotel, for the last couple of years.

It took three joint meetings with their lawyer for the couple to set their divorce process in motion. Their advocate advised them and they agreed not to mention the terms of settlement in the court documents, opting instead for an out-of-court arrangement.

As per legal experts, the law demands that the court has to give counselling to the couple for at least six months. And it will only be post the counselling that the court will be hearing the petition for future course of action.

As may be recalled, Aditya Chopra has directed the humungous hit, 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' (still running), and the Amitabh Bachchan comeback venture (with SRK and Aishwarya), 'Mohabbatein'.

The maverick director is now all set to direct his next venture with King Khan, 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi', from mid March .
