Austrian Alps Ready For Bollywood Tourism!

The deputy prime minister of the Republic of Austria, Dr. Josef Pröll, led an Austrian delegation to India on an official visit this week.

The delegates were in Bombay on 19th February to interact with Bollywood and lure filmmakers to shoot their films in Austria. At a luncheon meeting at a suburban hotel, it was revealed that a new film financing model for films shot in Austria had been announ­ced recently in the country.

This policy has earmarked 20 million Euros for foreign films shot in the country till 2012-end. Of the 20 million Euros, 5 million will be used in the current year and 7.5 million in each of 2011 and 2012.

Umesh Mehra ('International Khiladai', 'Qila' etc. ) announced at the meeting that his banner was in the process of signing the first Indo-Austrian film co-production venture shortly for which he (Mehra) would be soon flying to Austria.
